It’s an intrinsic part of Australian identity: a place for celebration, relationships, and community. But who are the people who run these restaurants? Where are they from? Why do they choose to work behind the wok, and what’s their favourite dish on the menu?

Perth – Ready, Set, Launch!
Australia now Malaysia 2020-21 was officially launched in Perth on 14 June, in partnership with the Western Australian Government.
In attendance were The Hon. Roger Cook MLA, chef Adam Liaw and Malaysian Consul-General to Perth Ahmad Fikri Zakian, who all enjoyed an evening celebrating the deep links shared between Australia and Malaysia.

Australia now 2021 will celebrate our links with Malaysia!
In welcoming Malaysian Foreign Minister the Hon Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah on his first visit to our shores as Foreign Minister, the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, said that she was very proud to announce Malaysia as the 2021 focus country for Australia’s flagship public diplomacy program.
