Held annually over three weeks in Adelaide, the Oz Asia Festival showcases the best theatre, dance, music, visual arts, literature, film, food and cultural events from across Asia. Its extensive program has included artists from around the world.
On 7 November, Oz Asia’s ‘In Other Words’ program will see two of Australia’s favourite cooks talk about memory, culture and food.
Join Hetty McKinnon celebrating the food of her Chinese childhood in Australia, together with Adam Liaw as they explore their own personal histories, discuss how to make easy and delicious Asian food and encourage new takes on tradition.
Chinese-Australian cook and food writer Hetty McKinnon is based in Brooklyn, New York and is the author of four bestselling cookbooks, Community, Neighbourhood, the award-winning Family and her latest To Asia, With Love.
Adam Liaw is a cook, author, television presenter and the winner of MasterChef Australia. Adam hosts the popular SBS television series Destination Flavour and The Cook Up with Adam Liaw. His new series, Adam and Poh’s Malaysia in Australia is currently on SBS.
The event will be held in the Dunstan Playhouse at Adelaide Festival Centre and live-streamed online from the Oz Asia Festival website, moderated by writer and broadcaster Benjamin Law.
